...I mostly write at night, because this is the only time when I am not tormented by phone-calls
and everywhere is quiet...
...I like to end when it’s already light outside – this gives me the sense that I’ve gone out of a
cave to face daylight...
...Then I go to sleep. I write in bouts – when I do, I’m on it 24-7...
...When I work, I hardly sleep or eat, I cut myself off from the world...
...People often nurse grudges that they can’t reach me, that I don’t answer calls or messages,
that I don’t let my loved ones enter the house –
but every such contact knocks me out of my rhythm...
...It’s not even about any great creative inspiration, because I work like a craftsman –
I know what I want to write and what role this fragment plays in the plot –
but I write each scene “on a single breath.” ...
...I am so engrossed in the plot that, well, I can’t say I’m not hungry,
but I just don’t want to waste time on cooking...
...I never drink alcohol when I work,
I don’t eat biscuits, chocolates or snacks...
...An empty stomach gives me a positive kick...
