...And so the situation in which we now discover ourselves , of a world of hard fact
both outside and within , the world of the dynamics of potential action
interpreted in the way of a behaviorist psychology , where man never acts , but only reacts ,
and we are little more than machines , either malfunctioning or in order !
...Compare this dismal image with that of the old myths and legends ,
where the hero of action is one who , through his own action ,
determines the shape of the world itself...
What a contrast !
...And the occult , the hidden , metaphysical , whether as GOD , or the DEVIL ,
or man's own inward nature , is something that has simply been refuted...
...There is no such thing...
...There are the laws only of hard , outward fact
and their methodically scientific translation inward...

the laws of hard fact are for him suspended...
...He becomes the creator of his own sweet world...
...They rightly say that Love is blind , Love does not see the crude , ugly fact
that everyone else beholds and which it has turned into a radiant delight.

the laws that govern all prudent life will dissolve..."
